The Manufacturing Institute (MI) is seeking a Program Manager. You will be the FAME USA team lead for a suite of software platforms that support the “global-best” standard of the FAME model; specifically Absorb, OpenWater, WordPress (Beaver Builder), and HubSpot. OpenWater is an applicant tracking system to manage student progression and we pair that with Absorb learning management system to host related trainings; HubSpot is command central for customer management, and of course, the public face of our work is our website, which also hosts a learning library for our network.
Through this role, you will provide daily support of these systems for the team, managing the effective utilization of the systems and providing relevant data reports from each. You will also help develop and support the workflows to ensure these systems complement each other in a single, cohesive support package for FAME USA.

The Manufacturing Institute is the workforce development and education of the National Association of Manufacturers (the NAM) with a mission to build, diversify and strengthen the manufacturing workforce for individual opportunity, community prosperity and a competitive manufacturing industry for the future. The Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education (FAME) is a major initiative of the MI, supported by a dedicated team. You will be joining this team.
FAME is a distinct model of skills training used to develop the next generation of technicians for advanced manufacturing; the Advanced Manufacturing Technician (AMT) program is the flagship training program used by hundreds of manufacturers across the country to develop global-best multiskilled technicians. The FAME USA network is currently comprised of more than three dozen chapters across 14 states; chapters have employers, colleges, and community organizations all supporting the program locally. Additional chapters are seeking to launch each year.
The Program Manager, FAME USA is an important part of the FAME USA team and will spend a lot of their time on developing, managing, and integrating key elements of FAME USA’s data platforms that are used to support the expansion of the network and the efficiency and sustainability of local FAME programs. A successful candidate should have a continuous improvement mindset, embrace working closely with the experienced team supporting FAME USA, and take advantage of the opportunity to work with a growing network of partners across the country implementing this highly regarded program. You’ll be joining a larger MI team of problem-solvers that are designing, enhancing, and managing national-scale solutions while nurturing successful partnerships that attract and prepare the next generation manufacturing workforce.

Assisting with project schedules and deliverables via Asana, support the ongoing operations and successful scaling of FAME chapter
Contributing to the development and deployment of new solutions to support FAME chapters and stakeholders.
Supporting the development of content including program collateral, toolkits, and social media content to highlight the impact of FAME USA.
Assisting in executing convenings, webinars and conferences to support FAME USA activities.

A Bachelor's degree, preferably in a business- or data-centric field, preferred
Some work history, preferably with experience in any of the following areas:
Web-based software solutions for scaling, particularly CRM, LMS, and ATS;
Workforce development—through policy, delivering training or working at a training provider.
Awesome organizational skills with the ability to work well under pressure: you will have to manage your workload to meet deadlines.
A desire to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment: you will be performing multiple tasks using a variety of software applications for a variety of projects for a variety of users.
A “continuous improvement” mindset: good can always be better and we work each day to improve upon our work.
Some experience in manufacturing, economic development, and/or community college education is welcome but not required.
Experience with the FAME model would be ideal but is not required

Good communication and interpersonal skills. Relationships are important!
At least some experience with and a working knowledge of the Microsoft productivity suite—specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint; but also, SharePoint, Teams, and Outlook.
The ability—and importantly, a desire—to learn various web-based applications.
A team-oriented attitude with a customer service focus. We rise and fall as a team and our work is for others (our “customers”) and often informed through relationships.
