The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) is seeking an entrepreneurial brand, marketing and communications associate to play two main roles: (1) coordinate and help project manage the day-to-day operations of the Brand Strategy division, providing supporting to the vice president of Brand Strategy and the entire division as a work unit and (2) develop and manage reporting and data solutions to enhance creative, message development and marketing functions on the team. This position requires the ability to plan, think independently and adapt to the needs of a fast-paced professional environment. The Associate is expected to stay abreast of division developments and the division's priorities and activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):
Coordinate and monitor current projects and work assignments for the vice president and other department staff to ensure timely completion of all tasks. Proactively track due dates and follow-up as appropriate.
Provide data and metric tracking insights on select NAM communications products, and support the division's use of metrics to advance the organization's business objectives.
Support and help drive ongoing improvements to the Brand Strategy team, including data-driven decision-making, digital outreach, email marketing and visual storytelling.
Work closely with message development, creative content and marketing strategy teams to conceptualize the creative development of assets necessary to support communication and brand strategy campaigns.
Maximizing the efficiency of the vice president by managing his day-to-day workflow, reviews and select communications, and helping to support the vice president's schedule and priorities.
Serve as the day-to-day digital manager for the vice president, assisting with social media and digital communications.
Researching, copy writing and editing support for communications projects as assigned.
Planning and handling all arrangements for division meetings, receptions and conferences.
Articulate the value of design through verbal and visual presentation.
Stay up-to-date on emerging and future data and digital trends as well competitive activations across all relevant industries to identify and grow brand opportunities.
Ensure excellence in all communication from the vice president and the department including e-mail, hard-copy correspondence and memos, briefing information and other materials. Provide assistance in research, writing, editing and distribution- including meeting minutes, member follow-up correspondence and relevant summaries. Review and proof select publications, documents and materials for public viewing, ensuring accuracy, thoroughness and compliance with NAM publishing/document guidelines.

Education and/or Experience
1+ years of work experience with a BA in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, Political Science, Graphic Design, Communication Design or related studies or experience equivalent.
Experience that demonstrates excellent writing, proofing, editing, research and project-management skills.
Strong understanding of how best to leverage major social media platforms, including Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok and Snapchat.
Experience with digital monitoring tools and sales and marketing platforms like HubSpot, Salesforce and Marketo is a plus.
Fluency in InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects (video editing skills are a major plus).
Basic knowledge of business and American government.
Ability to work flexibly with a broad cross-section of the organization.
Ability to work under tight deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Digital publishing experience a plus.
Location: Washington, DC, with occasional telework opportunities.
