The Manufacturing Institute (“MI”) Operations Associate is a stakeholder-facing position and is responsible for supporting the MI operations team in developing, executing and tracking the successful execution of operational efforts and program requirements. The Associate, Operations Support is an integral part of the MI’s team as we seek to inspire, educate, and empower the manufacturing workforce of today and tomorrow. A successful candidate will be someone that wants to work on effectively executing the operational components of the MI’s initiatives. You will be joining a team of entrepreneurial problem-solvers focused on implementing and executing programs and partnerships to attract and prepare the manufacturing workforce.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
Works at the direction of the VP, Operations to support MI program staff to develop and execute MI deliverables, to track metrics and build reporting on ongoing efforts.
Collaborates with the Senior Manager, Program Operations regarding project management of key events and deliverables.
Assist with registration and on-site support and works closely with the MI operations team and the NAM’s Meetings Management Team to ensure quality member experiences.
Shipping, receiving and unpacking materials, meeting room set-up, registration set up, etc.
Assists in execution of events and post-event support.
Event support may require travel and availability to attend off hours/weekends/long hours with advance notice and includes some research tasks.
This position includes some limited administrative support functions, which entail:
updating collateral materials and web-based resources
scheduling of department and other meetings
assisting with events to support the MI’s partner organizations and programs.
occasional travel support for the VP Operations and other members of the Operations staff.
Position includes project management of assigned research and other similar operational process improvement activities to enhance MI performance to expectations.
Working with the Vice President and Senior Manager, Program Operations, to help in the execution of MI programs, projects, and events. Additional tasks may include:
Review and update database for relevant program areas
Support content updates and edits to MI website and events data, calendar, etc
Coordinate communications with NAM Membership teams and MI partner organizations to keep them informed of our efforts and activities as needed.

Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university preferred.
A minimum of four years related experience and/or training.
Prior association experience preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint and familiarity with or ability to learn WordPress and other Web content management applications.
Must be well organized and self-motivated, with the ability to work well under pressure and able to manage workload to meet deadlines.
Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, perform multiple tasks using various software applications.
Strong editing and proofreading skills; excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent writing skills.
Comfort and proficiency in public speaking.
Team oriented and customer service focused with the ability to interact regularly with staff, executives, and other stakeholders.
