The Market Research Analyst is a key member of the National Department team and is responsible for providing the best possible strategic market analysis to improve and maintain the teams’ new member sales, high retention rates and dues increases.  This position is also responsible for maintaining, updating, and utilizing the NAM CRM and Salesforce.

  • Leads initiative to quantify and identify and verify the Total Available Market (TAM) of US manufacturing industry managing free, subscription, and third-party firms outsourced to support primary and secondary research. 35%


  • Performs internal research to find member and board matches, business connections, industry peers and regional relationships of prospect and member companies, utilizing various sources (the NAM's database, Salesforce CRM, directors' bios; leadership directories; annual reports, etc.).    10%


  • Leveraging industry trends, growth industries and geography develop lists of members for targeted outreach and engagement.  Use various web- and computer-based tools to perform external research.  10%


  • Develop and maintain key dashboards, Salesforce reports and key performance indicators. Analyze trends, opportunities and flashpoints for additional attention. 40%


  • Serve as liaison to internal staff to provide information for marketing projects or to update information, such as the NAM's annual report, marketing letters, surveys and brochures and/or other special projects.  5%

We are looking for Team Players who meet the Following Criteria:


  • College degree (preferably in marketing, business, finance); minimum of three years’ experience with research and data analytics;
  • Highly analytical with advanced experience with Windows, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Power Point) and other analytical tools; Salesforce preferred, SQL relational database or similar experience required;
  • Experience compiling and analyzing statistical data sets;
  • Working knowledge of database structures and familiarity with prospect sales and lead generation systems a plus;
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with interest in developing and implementing market research initiatives and becoming an administrator of Salesforce;
  • Strong project management and organizational skills;
  • Attention to detail and high degree of accuracy;
  • Strong team player with ability to develop and foster interpersonal relations;
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, quality and goal driven work environment.
